(For Retiring or Post-Career Professional Athletes)

You’ve spent the majority of your life focused on this one craft. Countless hours in the gym, extra work with coaches, watching film and honing your body for your sport. The work was hard but the meaning that came from competing surpassed the sweat you gave.
Then, in the blink of an eye it’s over. You hang it up, whether because of injury, a cut or it was just time and wonder why you feel so off. You thought you’d enjoy the free time but suddenly there seems to be too much of it and you’re not sure where to direct your energy. Left unchecked, the stagnation turns to listlessness, which turns to apathy and turns to depression.
Most retired athletes think that it’s about keeping their body moving or finding a way to continue to connect to the sport. But from my experience, it’s not about trying to regain what you felt in your previous position. It’s about reimagining the new season of your life and sprinting full force into the excitement of a new chapter.
Going through the process of retirement as an athlete is one of the hardest transitions you can go through. And I mean that. You never went into battle with a tough opponent without a game plan and this should be no different. We begin with a values based assessment to understand where you want to direct your energy. From there, we outline your five core mission points. We will redefine success, meaning, and purpose.
I’m ready to join you in this! Let’s take you from listless and confused to purposeful and clear.
